plus, it's called media manipulation. Hundreds of cars crash everyday but when a plane crashes which is extremely rare a big thing is made of it. Every plane crash recently has just been unfortunate. With the flock of geese in the engine, ice freezing and such

Although there have been a few more plane crashes than normal, its just a coincidence and because they have been highlighted on the news people think planes are gonna crash left right and centre when they aren't.

you have a greater chance of dying in a car crash going to the airport than dying in a plane crash.

I've been wondering the same thing. It seems like every time I turn on the news or open my Yahoo homepage, there's a headline about a plane that crashed. My sister-in-law is a flight attendant so everytime I hear about a crash I get worried but she normally does the small planes. I guess it's just a coincidence - once one goes down, a few follow. My mom says that about death - our whole lives, people have always died in 3's.

Anyway, if you're worried about your flight to Thailand, research the airline you're taking. See if they've been part of any of the recent crashes and I'm sure you can find research on how often the airline has accidents. Have a safe flight!

Because of weather and malfunctions in the planes, but a chance of being involved in a plane crash is very very low: 1/100000 chance of being involved in one, and a chance of dying in one is 1/100.

There has always been "not a lot" but always been plane crashes, they just haven't publicizedd them as much because it has been so frequent. But you have nothing to worry about. Just pray and enjoy your trip. If anything does happen just follow the captains instructions

I am thinking all these planes are crashing because my sister, husband and I just bought tickets to fly across the ocean to Hawaii and we are all a little nervous about it. Well, we were a little nervous about it, now my sis is terrified and my husband is talking about rewriting the will.

There have not been many plane crashes lately, there has just been a lot more coverage of plane crashes lately. Several recent crashes were considered newsworthy and got a lot of press, but there is no particular increase in crashes, especially in relation to total air travel.
