Why is it Ryanair can charge so little for their flights, and so much on taxes, plus baggage, its just doesn't

make sense... not so cheap after all.....

Ryan Air was the worst airlind I have ever flown with.

British Airways works out cheaper:
you can take more luggage weight on with you

also you dont end up in the middle of nowhere

DONT FLY RYAN AIR!!

To land on an airport, you have to pay taxes.
Even on a Rynair ticket at 0,99 €,
you have to pay your share of taxes anyway,
as well as you pay them on a 200 € flight.

The taxes are Airport taxes and everybody who flies pays the same, it differs only by destination.

Charter companies,RyanAir and EasyJet, charge extra for baggage, in-flight drinks, headphones, etc. to bring their profits up. Therefore they are not necessarily charging less than any other companies, they have just broken down the charges and if we want drinks etc., we have to pay.

In other words, they are cheaper so long as we don't have any of the freebies that scheduled flights give. This is why they are called "No Frills" airlines.

its down to the fact that the goverment and the airports charge the taxes not ryanair. If you look at the likes of BA they charge more for the flights and about the same amount of tax!!

Heathen
It's a cynical marketing ploy to sucker in people like you (and me recently) to fly with them. By the time you've added the oxygen tax, the tax to sit in a seat, the metal tax, the fuel tax, the pilot tax, the stewardess tax, the airport tax, the tax tax and the tax to pay the shareholders, there is no difference to any other airline.

it's a marketting ploy.....you THINK that you have a cheap flight coz you're impressed with the initial price.having said that I've flown with Ryanair loads and always get dirt cheap flights....... you just have to look for the cheapies.

Taxes are set by the government and unfortunately you have to pay them on any flight.

In respect of baggage, it depends whats best for you. When I go away for a night, I can carry everything so I don't have to pay extra.

Try easyjet, bmi baby and monarch for price conparisons or http://www.travelsupermarket.com which will search all of the airlines for you

Ryanair are con merchants, they discriminate against disabled, they pay their staff a pittance even the pilots, their customer service is , well they don't have one, they grab your money and that is that.

Do yourself a big favour, fly with Easy Jet, don't take anything you see on the TV for true. It is the Tv company who carefully edit out all the good bits and keep in the bad bits to make it entertaining.
Easy Jet is a no frills airline, and that is what it means, they have to close the checkin desk dead on when they say they have to, so that the aircraft can be turned around quickly otherwise you won't get these cheap fares they supply.
I have flown with both Ryanair and Easy Jet, ok Ryanairs fares may be cheaper but you wait and see the extras pile on, Easy Jet's experience for me was no less than 100%. If you turn up 2 minutes after checkin closes it's not their fault, it may look like they don't care but if you want a 99p fare to Glasgow then you have to turn up on time, it's not Easy Jets fault you are late.
Whenever I fly I leave at least 4 hours before the flight and spend time with my wife and kids watching the planes, you don't leave things to the last minute to get a flight, if you do then you suffer the consiquenses.
To Easy Jet, thank you for a 100% service and for taking care of me by providing a wheelchair free for me, not like Ryanair who charge the earth.
