expensive as its on par with singapore airlines, cathay, ba and virgin in terms of safety etc but not for the old hags that they employ for stewardesess, not a patch on singapore air...gone are the days of fit stewardessess with qantas...
always fly singapore air going to and from oz, domestic flights choose virgin blue. |

i FLEW WITH THEM 2 YEARS AGO BECAUSE THEY WERE ACTUALLY THE CHEAPEST BUT I WOULDN'T GO WITH THEM AGAIN. I AGREE THEY WERE A BIT ARROGANT. MORE SNOBBISH THAN ARROGANT. I WENT BEFORE WITH GARUDA INDONESIA WHO DON'T HAVE A BRILLIANT TRACK RECORD BUT THEY WERE FAR SUPERIOR TO QANTAS. THEY WERE FRIENDLY AND POLITE AND FOOD WAS GOOD. FOOD ON QANTAS WAS AWFUL AND LEGROOM BAD. I THINK THE ASIAN AIRLINES ARE BETTER FOR GOING THAT DIRECTION. THEY ARE NATURALLY MORE HOSPITABLE. |

If anyone asks me which is the very best airline I ever travelled on, I always say "Qantas". Good advance seat allocation, with great care to book families together even if you only reserve the day before; easy changing of flights; good leg room; good choice of films for an all-age captive audience; food no worse than most (but I agree that Singapore's excellent for food); helpful staff (compared with BA's cattle-herders); and a good safety record. And the prices are competitive. What more do you need? |

Probably because Qantas is the best and safest airline on the planet. No plane crashes, outstanding customer service, comfortable flights with plenty of room.
