Well, in first class you have bigger and more comfortable seats, food, glass cups and glass dinnerware, more attention, have your "almost" private restroom, you get to seat first than everybody, you go out the plane first too, and you can have this curtain if you don't want to be seen...
In the "couch" class, you get peanuts, the seats are uncomfortable, you have to wait in line to use the restrooms, you get attention when "they" want, your dinnerware, if any, is plastic, they give you just two glasses of liquid, if any, everybody see you, and if somebody sneezes you will catch it... |

Oh...it's SO much better than coach. Believe me, if you can afford it, always fly first class. The seats are bigger, more leg room, the service is better, you don't have some snotty two year old crying next to you...need I go on? Didn't you ever see that episode of Seinfeld where Elaine was in coach and Jerry was in first class? It's too close to the truth! |

I agree to a certain extent if you are flying half way around the world first class is going to be a lot nicer. If its a short flight the only difference is bigger seats and not being as crammed but now most airlines have taking out rows to make it more comfortable. |

free drinks, better food and more room. yes, there is a big difference. next time you fly ask if there is room availble in first class right before they start boarding. if the have room they'll let you upgrade for just $100 more. it's worth it if your flight in longer than a couple hours. happy travels! |

The people that travel first class, or business class are usually the people that travel for a living. Not usually leisure travelers on holiday. And domestically a good majority of the people in first class are probably there because they are high status fliers with the airline. They might fly 25,000, 50,000 100,000 miles or more a year, so they get complimentary upgrades.
Out of a 5 day work week, they might have to travel 4 of those 5 days.
I book corporate travel for a living. Generally most of the people that I do travel for travel coach within the US and then business class overseas.
So like an trip going to Shanghai leaving from Minneapolis would be something like
Minneapolis to Tokyo 12 hours
Tokyo to Shanghai 4 hours
So 16 hours is a lot to spend on a plane. And they might spend a few days there and go on to the next city or back home.
So business class/first class is for people who spend their lives on airplanes and traveling. Just to make it a little more bearable.
I think one of the nicest first class sections is on Etihad Airways (it's an airline over in the United Arab Emirates) they call it Diamond Zone. http://www.etihadairways.com/etihadairways/us/en/experienceetihad/ourguestzones/Diamond.htm |

A whole world of a difference if you're flying international or on long domestic flights. You're simply treated with VIP handling and given as much attention to comfort --- as should be, considering the cost! |

Better food, free drinks, larger seats. |

On a longer flight first or business class offers:
More space
Better food
Free alcohol
Service from the stewards/stewardesses
TV and movies
First on the flight and first off the flight |

When you fly first class going overseas you get excellent services, great food services, sometimes your own chef etc. I would never recommend someone to fly first class on a domestic flight especially flying on spirit airlines because its a waste of money. |

I fly a lot internationally, and have had the good fortune of flying first class once, due to a generous upgrade.
It makes all the difference in the world. It's comfortable (the seats are bigger and have more amenities), quiet, staffed with obsequious attendants, better food, and miracle of miracles, I was able to get restful sleep. |

No comparison!! Morning passengers are greeted as they board with a glass of bucks fizz(optional)or any other drink of your choice, daily news paper, magazines, toiletry bag,(including eye mask, refreshing facial wipes, moisturizing cream,toothpaste&toothbrush,earplugs)bla... & inflatable neck rest, wide comfie seats, like armchairs, you can curl up in, Choice of menu , unlimited drinks&snacks, unlimited films, excellent choice of duty free goods.etc.,etc., If you & ms.fuzzbucket have received this treatment during an economy flight please let us all know the airline you flew with!!!! |

Comfort, Confort, comfort, "supposedly" better service, better food. You arrive more rested. As I have flown First Class these day sometimes the service is lacking, depending on the airline but the seats are way more comfortable, Less people using the bathroom!!! |

The biggest difference is bigger, more comfortable seats. Oh and the drinks are complimentary (at least they were when I flew first class 2 years ago) and you have to pay in coach. It's not worth the extra money flying short routes but if you are flying somewhere that is say 8 hours or more away, yeah, it's probably worth it. |

Bigger seats, better service, better food. These are especially important for overseas flights, BUT, it is so not worth the price! I recently looked into a vacation in Egypt. From my town to Egypt coach class was $1,500. First class was.....take a deep breath and sit down....
$10,000!!! OUCH!
When I flew to Europe, I flew coach class, but flew on a red-eye flight and had plenty of space to stretch out and relax because the plane was practically empty. Thats the way to travel overseas! |

Free booze! Yeah!! |

For most flyers, it´s not worthed to pay that upgrade. If you are exhausted at destination, you can usually afford a few hours to "fresh up" But let say you have an important meeting, or a presentation to make, let say, 2 hours upon arrival ? Then the need of being in optimal state overrule. |

I'm fine with flying Economy, but first class boards first, they have more leg room, they get faster service from attendants, their luggage is unloaded first... It's basically for business people who are really on the go and don't want to deal with the rest of society. |

because the sits are wider which i don't really care where i sit... but they get better attention they get food quicker and have more options. get different food sometimes and offer wine and other drinks. |

Much roomier with wider seats and more legroom.....and the seats themselves are more comfortable, not to mention you get to get off the plane first. |

more expesive and u get TVs in the backs of seats in front of u, and u choose wat u want 2 watch, and u get sundaes. i've flown 1st class ONCE. it was awesome cuz i wasnt paying 4 it! =] |
|

spanther_22
 |
the people who fly first class dont pay for it - their company does as it makes them feel important as they have two extra inches of leg room and the air hostesses flash them BIG DEAL
i dont need an extra 2 inches plus air hostesses are kinda skanky |

If you're fat, the seats are larger. If you're not, you don't have to worry about getting stuck in between two fat passengers!
Usually get cable TV and free drinks.
The best part is the flight attendants let you pinch their bottoms. |
