Will Contintental Airlines give me a refund if I cancel a flight two weeks in advance to the scheduled flight? |
I'm considering canceling a flight ticket two weeks in advance. Does anybody know Continental Airlines' policy when it comes to this? What is the fee and how much of my money will I be able to be refunded? Additional Details The tickets are for a domestic flight, economy class. |

Unless you bought a full fare unrestricted ticket most likely not. There are many fare classes and ticket prices for seats on the same flight, each fare class will have it's own restrictions, penalties and fees for rescheduling or cancelling a flight. You may not be able to get a refund, but may be able to get credit for a future flight, but you probably will have to pay a fee. It never hurts to read all the fine print when you buy a ticket, but unless you have a copy of the fare rules for the fare class ticket you bought, you'll have to call Continental to find out exactly what your options are, good luck. |

Most likely you will not get a refund. Most tickets have a policy that they charge $100 and then the remaining balance is issued as a credit that you have to use on Continental Airlines within a year. |

It depends on the type of ticket you purchased.
The only way to know for sure is to call them. Do that. Now. |

it says refundable
or non refundable
didn't you read the terms when you bought the ticket
I bought a continental tick , had to cancel, they gave me credit back on my next flight, even though it was non refundable
so you'll probably just be getting credit
(there are fees of course) |

If you purchased a ticket that is absolutely non-refundable then you are completely out of luck. They will NOT refund anything because you agreed to their ticketing policies when you first purchased the ticket. Now, if you had purchased a ticket that is refundable, you will most likely get a refund of the total ticket minus any booking fees. For changes to a ticket, you will be charged, and I hate to say this, but it will be a very hefty price given that Airlines are trying to off set fuel costs. There is no way around it. Hopefully, for your sake the ticket is a refundable one. Call the airline directly for information about your options. Goodluck. |

It will depend on if the ticket you purchased is refundable or non-refundable. Non-refundable tickets are much less expensive because you can only get credit towards another ticket purchase. Refundable tickets/fares are more expensive because you can get a refund issued to you if you cancel.
You need to read your ticket/itinerary to see what the fare restrictions and rules are. |

Only if its a refundable ticket.
According to airline stats, 98.7% of domestic coach tickes are non-refundable. |

go to their website, it looks like you can you just have to fill out a form, but I would call first. Most airlines take $30-$100 and refund the rest. |
