you dont HAVE to have your I.D. but it helps. I lost my wallet in california once. When you go through security if you dont have I.D. then you automatically go through extensive screening where they seperate you from the group, look through your bags, pat you down and wand you.

If you can preprint your boarding pass that helps ALOT because the ticket counter is a whole different world and its whatever your airlines policy is. Im sure if you tell them your a kid they'll work with you.

more importantly just bring your I.D.it will help alot, you wont have to deal with the hassle and if there is any question just show it to them and tell them its all you have...... homie.

For any kind of flying, you will need to show ID. And a school ID probably isn't enough--you'll need to go to the local Department of Motor Vehicles and get an official, state-issued State ID. You don't want any trouble once you're at the airport, and it can be enough of a hassle anyway.

I would suggest bringing your original birth certificate to show with your school ID to verify who you are. I suggest wearing shoes other than boots, you will be required to take off your shoes during inspection and do not have any open containers of liquid. You will be required to throw it out. You can bring bottled water, pop, juice ect...if its unopened.

I also suggest getting to the airport at least 1 1/2 hours before take off. Getting through the inspection lines takes a while and you don't want to miss your flight.

Legally, i dont believe your required to have an id till your 18, but id bring your school id just to be safe.

I think that if you're under 18 and flying without a parent, you do need state issued ID. It's easy, just go to the Secretary of State's office (make sure you have a parent, a copy of your birth certificate with the stamp on it, and your social security card). All you have to do is fill out a form, they'll take your picture, and you'll get a card that looks a lot like a driver's license. Then you'll be worry-free when you fly :)

I would soooooooooooo bring it. You know, if you bring it, you won't need it , but if you don't bring it, you will need it. Anyway, is it such a hassle to pack, just in case?

You need to prove that you are who you say you are. Bring your school ID. If FL has a non-driver's ID available, get one of those.
