Will a student ID work on domestic flights?
My flight is today and I've lost my California ID..
trust me...it works. Its better to use your government issued ID (like your CA ID or drivers license) but student IDs work too...just dont use it a lot.
I went to Alaska on a high school ID and southern california on a college ID. The southern CA trip took place a few months ago. Security didnt ask any questions....they just let me through

I'm sorry to say this but you have to have either a California ID, or a California Drivers License.

Oficially it is supposed to be goverment issued ID, however, you might be able to get away with student id as long as it has your photo on it and full name. Also take credit cards with your name and some other ID with your photo (gym membership, work id, etc)... it wouldn't hurt to take your birth certificate as well... Best thing would be for you to check-in online for your flight and skip the airline check-in procedure (if you only have carry on bag).... you still have to go thru TSA (security agency) at the airport, who will screen you and check your id against your ticket! I was able to travel on my student id once from Chicago to San Fran! Good luck and once again take as many documents as possible!
