Will my nipple piercing cause the metal detector at the airport to go off?

No way! People have to take their watches off because of the very high metal content. But if people don't have to take off their earrings, necklaces, or chain bracelets (they don't), why would you need to take off a nipple piercing?

The only slight, possible problem is that that if something else sets it off, that detection wand they use might register the nipple piercing. I'm almost positive, though, that they can see what a tiny metal content it has, and won't embarass you. You are also legally allowed to ask for a female agent, and then you can whisper to her that you have the piercing.

But that's only IF they use the wand on you, which they probably won't.

Yup. Then you'll have to pull it out in front of all those weary travellers. ;P Maybe you'll make the highlight of their trip.

It could, however, TSA metal detectors will beep after four pieces of metal are detected. They understand that customers travel with earrings, watches, and metal implants for whatever reason.

Just make sure you take everything else that is metal off of your person, and then you should be fine. I wouldn't mention it to them unless it beeps and they have to search you. Because if you do then they will search you anyways.

It depends on the type of metal detecting device. So, it might.

So be prepared, when the detector goes off, and the guards ask what it is; just whip out your boobs!

There is not enough metal to make the alarm go off. I travel every week and leave my watch on most of the time and it doesn't go off, so the chances of the alarm going off with your nipple piercing is extremely small. If they do wand you, it has to be done by a female agent.

Quite possibly. Let the security inspectors know *before* you go through the gate; they will pull you aside and wand you.

just like darimini76 said...if you do go off, which most likely you wont...then they will pull you over to the side where your parents wont be...just tell the people in a little whisper over there that you just got it done and cant take it out. once your done with that and your parents ask whats wrong just tell them it was a part of your shoe or something..like the sole has this metal that sometimes sets off the thing, orr just wear earrings, a necklace, anklet, a ring or a belt and just say that was it!

Probably not, unless it's the size of a large belt buckle. Most small jewelry (like rings and the like) won't set off the metal detectors.
