Will regular school packpack fit under airline seats?

I will be traveling for the first time on thursday and plan to bring my school backpack as a carryon. Do regular school backpacks (it will be completely full of my items) fit under the airline seats fine or will I have to put it in the overhead compartment? thanks

yes most ailines have enough room to fit bags under the seat you have to put your backpack in the measure box at the check in to make sure that it will fit and i brought my backpack to colorado and it was stuffed wtih jackets and stuff and it fit fine

It does indeed fit. I always take my backpack with me when I travel.

It depends on 2 things-

1. The amount of stuff in the backpack.

2. The particular make and model and type of aircraft you will be traveling on.

I have seen people put so much stuff in a backpack that they can stand sideways in a retail store aisle and block the traffic walking in and out. And if you make the pack wider than 12 inches, you might have a problem.

A widebody jet will have more space under the seat than a commuter plane. Different aircraft have different sized overhead compartments too. Either way, if your carryon bag is too big for the overhead or under the seat, chances are that there is a space on the plane for bags too large and when you want your stuff the flight attendant will be more than glad to get your bag during the flight. You can also call your airline to ask them about the size limits and then you can adjust your bag accordingly.

Yes, you should have no problem.

You'll be just fine with it under your seat. It will fit. If it doesn't then just take a few items out and put it in the pocket of the seat in front of you. That will make it fit better.

A standard size backpack will fit with no problem, just make sure not to get a bulhead or exit row seat as they do not have underseat storage. Also, if flying on a legacy carrier (AA, NW, CO..etc) make sure that you are not in a seat behind a row with power outlets, the power supply box is large and sits under the seat, so there will not be enough room for your bag and your feet.

depends on the airline-some spaces bigger than others, but as long as u dont make it REAL full,it should fit.if u cant get it under ur seat, put it under one in front of u.theres usually enough room unless that person has a backpack, too !!have fun.
