Will you still fly spirit airlines now that they are moving their call center to the Philippines?

Starting August 31st the U.S. based airline is outsourcing their call center and customer service to another country. Does this affect anyone's option of the airline? I worked there 4 years and every year it seems it goes further down hill. Just when I was thinking their customer service couldn't get any worse they out source it to another country.

Why not, they are trying to keep cost down and make a profit in a brutal industry. Ok Ok I know....American jobs bla bla bla.

Heck everytime I call my Visa card, I am pretty sure its being routed to India.

outsourcing something like a call center doesn't necessarily mean that they are going downhill. most Canadian companies outsource their call centers after 7 pm. Have you encountered a call center from the Philippines that made you think that they are worse than their North American counterparts? most consumers would love to have an excellent service given to them, but I think if they have no choice they will still fly whatever airlines as long as the ticket prices are cheap. It's all part of the globalization that the Americans introduced to the world!

If you fly an airline like that the only thing you look at is the price. So if they save, you save. This is how I see it as a passenger. Fron the employee's side the outsourcing sucks, of course. But it might also save your job since the airline is making better money with the call center in the Philippines. And frankly, Filipinos are very nice, friendly and service oriented people who normally speak quite good English. So, from the customers point of view, nothing wrong with that.

It doesn't change my opinion of them - I wouldn't fly them regardless.

what a stupid name for an airline. thats like calling a hospital your gonna die memorial hospital... do people think when they come up with these names?? I travel on the lowest cost carrier. where the carriers call center is makes no difference. hopefully they are using the funds they are saving to come up with a new name.. maybe like safe air or something..lol

So will you also consider not flying on United or Delta, who have outsourced to India? Or Lufthansa, who has outsourced to Turkey?

Lufthansa is a German airline. They probably didn't have any call centers in the US anyway.

Destiny
I have never fly on that airline, well, there price seem pretty cool, but customer service sucks.
