Northwest. I flew Northwest once and was delayed on the departure flight and then was delayed 7 hrs on the return flight, all this for a flight that was less than 2 hrs to begin with. My sister started started arguing with a Northwest employee and then another passenger chimed in and told us about how his flight had been delayed or canceled a few months earlier and he missed his own sons funeral, and on top of that they wouldn't give him his money back for the cost of the flight!

United and American.
Equally poor customer service, too many connections, and always seem to be WAY over booked..

#2 is United Airlines

Both have HORRIBLE customer service and wayyyyy toooo mannnyyyy freaking connections just to go from California to North Carolina and back.

The best airline IMO is Delta. There was 1 connection and the plane staff was very nice and accomodating.

Never been a big fan of US Airways. They have a high rate of mishandled baggage and starting June 1, they will stop giving you free snacks such as pretzels.

American Airlines. Poor customer service, an aging fleet and aging flight attendants. Makes for a long flight.

AMERICAN! Ugh the service was terrible and the flight assistances were rude.

Tiger Airways and Virgin Blue domestic. It was just oh so squashy. I mean, I'm not a tall person, but heck, I couldn't figure out where to put my legs! To top it off, everything is bought onboard- food, etc. In terms of the worst safety record- it's got to be Garuda Indonesia; but, I was incredibly lucky to have had a smooth flight with them. Food was not too bad, though.

A friend at my old job flew Biman Air Bangladesh from Tokyo to Bangkok stopping in Dhaka, Bangladesh (to save $100 versus taking a real airline), fluid leaked on his head during the flight, and the plane broke down in Dhaka so he was stuck there for three days before finally getting to go on to Bangkok.

I flew on China Eastern Airlines in Business Class - it was worse than a regular economy flight.

Southwest. I do not care for the free for all when getting on the plane to find an unassigned seat!

Southwest!! Why don't they assign seats? When youre in the C Group, it's sooo hard to find a seat next to someone in your party. Same when youre on a flight with like 50 children, and they all get to board before you and their parents. You end up being stuck at the way end of the plane, while your family members are all over the place on the rest of the plane.
American!! MD80s annoy me, esp on their 4 hr routes from ORD to LAX, Also when they cancel your flights and some employees are rude when rescheduling you.
Not to mention overbooking--"Um, we have more travelers than seats, so we are looking for 10 volunteers to take the next flight (which ends up being cancelled or delayed in many cases), and we offer a $300 travel voucher and a free meal."

Frontier Airlines, I set the alarm off, and the cause was my underwire bra and they treated me like a crimminal. I was humiliated, interrogated, searched. Five TSA agents were surrounding me. I was alone and scared. I will never fly that airline again nor will I wear a underwire bra .
