This is from the London Heathrow website, and the same probably applies in all other UK airports. 'Following the Department for Transport’s announcement on 2 November, passengers can now carry a limited quantity of liquids, ie gels, lotions, pastes, liquid cosmetics, foams and foodstuffs, in their hand baggage when going through airport security checkpoints. We strongly advise you to pack any liquids that you don’t need whilst onboard the aircraft in your hold baggage. However, if you do need to travel with liquids, please be aware of the following restrictions which apply to all liquids you wish to carry through an airport security checkpoint:
All liquids must be in individual containers not greater than 100ml capacity. They must be placed in one transparent re-sealable transparent bag, no larger than 20cm x 20cm (8" x 8") in size, and fit comfortably inside the bag so it can be fastened closed. Only one bag per passenger is allowed. The bag must be clear and re-sealable, such as ‘ziplock’ bags or bags with pressable seals. Larger bags or bags that are sealable, such as fold-over sandwich bags are not allowed. Each passenger must remove their clear plastic bag from their hand baggage and place it in on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening. Liquids in containers of more than 100ml capacity can be packed in your hold baggage. Exemptions to the liquids rule applies for liquid medicine or baby milk/food. And don't forget the maximum size allowed for hand luggage. (A handbag must fit INSIDE this bag). Visit the site below for more info. |

You can take as many dictionaries as you want. I suggest you take at least one at all times.
Liquids can only be transported in containers of up to 100ml each, and only up to 1 l in total (in cabin baggage). Anything in excess of this will be confiscated.
Anything you buy at the duty-free shops beyond security is exempt.
And as always, nothing sharp and/or metal. Cuticle scissors, nail files, Swiss army knives, etc. are all no-nos. |

No sharp objects (e.g pocket knifes, clippers etc).
Nothing flammable (e.g. lighters).
Limited gels and liquids (no container with more than 100ml with total no more than 1 litre). |

Any liquid or gel has to be 3oz or less and put in a ziplock bag if it is your carry on. I do not think there are an rules for stuff in your checked luggage. There are other stipulations when it comes to liquid medicine. You can go to the web site of the air line and get more specific info |

You can carry small amounts of liquid in your hand luggage as much as you like in your case in the hold in terms of perfume.

The rules apply to hand luggage that you take on the plane with you but not to items checked in as baggage. The rules are strict re sharp objects, cigarette lighters, flammable materials, weapons, etc. Liquids and perfumes are allowed in your hand luggage but only in very small bottles, they must also not be more than 100ml in volume, and must all fit into one small, clear, resealable bag. I think that they allow essential medication that is in liquid form and baby foods, but it's best to check this with airline before you travel. I'd advise pack your toiletries, suncream, perfume etc in your suitcase to be checked in as baggage that way you can take what you want with you |
