Yes. In 1972, when I was eleven, I was on a plane where three of the four engines failed. I actually had to confront the possibility of death. I remember thinking that if I died, I would always be known just as the eleven year old who died in a plane crash and that got me angry. I had to switch planes in Holland, and I was just relieved to be on a different plane that was safe. I have no fear of flying. The chance of something happening on the next plane I go on is virtually nill. Statistics are statistics.

Yes, I would still fly, I think. It may be hard the first flight after, but I would still fly. Yes, accidents happen, but when you consider how many flights there are each and every day and how often we hear of incidents such as this, or worse, then the odds are that it would be fine.

Plus, I would definately fly Quantas again - considering that they have never had a fatal airline accident since they began using jet engines then I figure they would still be OK to fly with. (They have had crashes before, but those were pre-jet engine aircraft).

potatochip
Yes because incidents that happened on board Qantas are very rare. The crew are trained to handle things that can go wrong on an airplane. Plus most people were pretty calm during the incident.

No way. I love travelling & hope to travel the world.

I flew the day after 9/11 to explore the dominican republic! loved it.

chances of trouble are 1/1,000,000 or something, so if you came out unscathed from 1,,,then theoretically youve got 999,999 trouble free flights to take in your life time - which you never will! So yeah i'd fly again.

yes, of course, absolutely.... if people would let such things scare them away so easily then the airline business won't exist anymore. There are a lot more horrifying air plane disasters

Yes. Not much chance it will ever happen to you again. I think Quantas nearly lost their 100% record though.

New of terrorist and highjackers on airplanes don't scare me. To be honest, I feel safer on airplanes than I do anywhere else.

Ya, I would fly again. I'm planning a trip very soon.

Yes of course. You are way more likely to get into a serious car crash then to be involved in any kind of plane crash/emergency landing.

I know a lot of ppl were scared to fly after 9-11 but at the same time a lot of ppl weren't. I took my first flight post 9-11 in Febuary 2005 from Florida to France. Actually from Florida to Michigan and then to France but I'm not worried about flying.

Yes i would, i work for an airline. I believe it's safer travelling by plane than in a car!

Everyone survived which is the main thing and extensive investigations will be underway to find the cause.

anne b
Yes.

"isitme"
Absolutely no problem flying at all.

Qantas must be gutted as they are still officially the safest Airline in the world.

Caleb F
What stops me from flying is not the crashes or the hijacking but the respect I have now for our planet.

The Co2 put out by one flight is enormous and people should really be thinking more about what is happening to our planet because of their selfishness.

huh?
