1st time travellers to Buenos Aires seek advice from fellow travellers there as to hotels, tourist sites, etc.

Next month, we're going to Chile, Antartica, and Argentina. We'll only have four days in/around Buenos Aires and have never been.

1. Where to stay? We'd like a moderately priced hotel that is clean, comfortable, and close to the city centre. Neighborhood must be safe. We don't care about conference space or anything like that. Any personal recommendations from recent visits?

2. Best tourist sites for middle-aged, healthy couple, i.e., not interested in night clubs featuring, say, rap music. But a bohemian section of town might be fun. We'd be more interested in traditional culture.

3. Any particularly good city bus tours?

4. Best restaurants for really nice dining. More interested in quality of food than atmosphere, but ambience is nice, too. Caveat: we don't like seafood. Isn't the beef supposed to be fantastic? Pricey ok

4. Any unusual, out-of-the way places not always on the tourist map that anyone might have experienced and really recommend?
