2 NIGHTS IN BUENOS AIRES?

Ok, here's a little background:

My parents are from Argentina, but every time i've gone, it has only been to visit family...never really ...as a tourist :(

we are so exited, we'll go to: Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Iguazu, Rosario(family) and Cordoba (family)

Question:
Do you think 2 nights in Buenos Aires is enough??? and any other tips
What do you think of the other cities...how many days in those???
I was thinking 2 nights in Iguazu, 4 nights in Mendoza...

I don't know the total amount of time you want to spend in Argentina, but I would spend more than 2 nights in the capital. BA's a very big city and there's a lot to see and do.

For example, in the city, you have: Recoleta, Puerto Madero, La Boca, San Telmo, many places in the large 'barrio' of Palermo. All of the above neighborhoods have great restaurants, museums, etc. Then, for a day-trip outside the city, you have many 'estancias' or ranches to visit, and also Tigre to the north of the city, which is a small town for a nice day trip.

At the same time, Argentina has a lot of nice areas for tourists to visit far away from Buenos Aires. You should definitely visit Iguazu Falls. Also, Mendoza is a great wine-producing region, and you could do tours of the wineries, or 'bodegas'. Have you ever been to the Salta/Jujuy region in the northwestern part of the country? Although I've never been, I've heard that it's one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Finally, in the south, you have Patagonia and the 'Parque Nacional Los Glaciares' with the famous Perito Moreno glacier, etc.

The problem is that Argentina is so big, and all of these places are in different parts of the country. Therefore, it can be expensive to travel between the various tourist destinations because of the large distances involved.

This was long, but I hope it helped!

of course it depends on when you are coming (summer, winter) if you are coming in the summer months i would also recommend going down to Patagonia like Calafate, or even the southern most city Ushuaia. you are already half way there!! to see glaciers in Calafate WOW! Iguazu is great for 2-3 days. Mendoza you may not need a whole 4 days unless you are "wine hopping". beaches (in my opinion) in Argentina are not that great, so if you want beach get a Visa for Brazil. you may want one more day in BA. that way if you want to enjoy the train de la Costa upto Tigre for the day, or go to the Ciudad de los Ninos (1-2 hours south of BA) for your kid. remember there are tons of things to do depending on what you want. shows of all kinds for adults and/or kids, fairs, parks, architectural designs of buildings, art shows, tango shows, all the different Barrios, horse races,or riding, estancias, parillas..you name it. i am sure your family may be able to help as well for their areas of Cordaba and Rosario. it is hard to narrow down things since (1). i do not know what you like and (2) there is so much here for a few days of entertainment
have fun
