There are some ruins that aren't very well known in North-west Argentina in the province Jujuy. It's a city called Pucará de Tilcara, they were left by the Incas. I have been there and it's very cool.

There are more ruins in the province Mendoza. They are also from the Incas.

In the province of Salta there is a museum with some Incan children that were found frozen in the mountains. Here is a webpage with a picture, it is awesome. They are called the niños de llullaillaco you could do a search on it.

Cool project! One of the main groups of natives in Argentina were the Mapuches. There were also a group specific to Patagonia and even some Guarani that are mainly from Paraguay. As for ruins...there is a mountain in Bariloche (Neuquen province) that has some ruins inside...but nothing like the Mayan ruins or Incan. There are also places in El Calafate or nearby in Patagonia with primitive paintings called pinturas rupestres. I wish I had more exact knowledge of this but here a few links that might lead you to the info:
http://www.buenosairesstay.com - has travel info and more links to good Argentina travel sites
www.bue.gov - Buenos Aires government site with historical links
wikipedia.com - try finding info there!

Hope this has helped!

The Incans were in Northern Arentina. I think there are pre-Incan ruins in Quilmes, in the province of Salta. They may be Incan.

You have the SHINCAL of Quimivil in Ctamarca province, in a very small town, nobody here knows it!! I'm tourism technician and I did a project about it.
then you have the Jesuitics Buildings in cordoba, but there aren't ruins, are buildings very nice.
Another place where you'll find ruins is in Misiones Province (near Igauzu Falls). They're called San Ignacio Ruins, there are jesuitics, too.
Look in google this name, you'll find some info!! Any more informaction, contact me!

Good luck

Aztecs and Mayans belong to the Mexico zone, very far from Argentina.
There are not any "ancient indian ruins" Argentine cities" as much as I know.
Indian civilizations in Argentina were nomadic, so they didn't build cities.
The nearer ruins you can get are Inca's in Peru.

There are same Ruins of the Kilmes Indians in the "Valle Calchaqui"
May be same construction from the Mapuches in the southwest and then there are same ruins of Churches where they work with indians in the colonization times like the "Ruinas Jesuiticas".
The indians in the region where is now Argentina were nomads and instead of big cities they were distribute in kind of camps going for hunt
