I am not just interested in visiting BA, I would love to go and live there (if I can find there a good job with a great salary!)
the city is very charming (talking about the central neighborhoods plus the northern suburbs). You don't only live in Buenos Aires, you live Buenos Aires. Nice people, a lot of places to go out, beautiful parcs, all in all a very enjoyable city. The negatives are (nothing is perfect in life) pollution, and not so nice architecture in some of the popular areas.
I spent the month of November 2006 there, so my info is recent.
Good luck anyway!

to the Mexican idiot that said Argentina is poorer or worst than Mexico hahaha Argentina is one of the richest countries in south America and is way more beautiful than Mexico and if you think Mexico is richer than Argentina ask all the Mexicans that cross the border to the united states if Mexico is sooo rich why they're starving to death in mexico so to the person who is asking if you should go to Argentina absolutely yes its a beautiful country and trust me you wont regret going i mean even president bush's daughters went for their 25th birthday in October or November I'm not sure when but they said it was beautiful so you definitely should go to ARGENTINA!!!!!!!

Buenos Aires is much better than Mexico City. I have lived in both. Argentina does have some problems but it is a great country. There's lots to do there and many people from the US are traveling to Argentina instead of Europe for vacations.

I went to Buenos Aires in the summer of 06. Very nice place and a very big city. It has a lot of great things to visit and do and it welcomes Americans more than any other city I know of.

I've been living in Argentina for over two years now. Currently in BA, and am really enjoying myself.

PROS: Beautiful architecture, pretty plazas and parks, many cultural activities, great food, a well-educated population, great public transportation system.

CONS: Dirty in many parts of the city, gotta be careful about what type of neighborhood you are in (like all cities, though), not advisable to walk/take public transportation too late at night.

Advice - make sure you count your change after you buy something. More often than not, I get employees that "accidentally" short-change me.

Argentinean is not a good country brother.
I'm latin and you I say it by experience, Argentinean has many social problems, problems worse than those of Mexico, in the city of Buenos Aires there is much criminality, it is a country that is extremely poor is poorer than Mexico, but you know if you visit Argentinean,
rep: argentinean is not a good country brother. suerte!!
