Buenos Aires is the big draw in Argentina, but the entire country is beautiful. Portenos wear lots of taupe, chocolate and black, so you'll blend in well if you wear solids in those colors, accented with cream or white.

While in Argentina, eat. The food is to die for, well served and imaginative. Be sure to try the parilla, the rhodezio, and lots and lots of beef or bife. And drink. Coffee, tea, even orange juice is fantastic. If you get lonely for English and Americans you can go to Puerto Madero to the TGI Fridays on Tuesday nights. It is American night and English is spoken. They also have weak coffee and bad food.

Bring back trinkets and cultural items, like mate spoons and primitive art, instead of the usual tourist stuff. Take with you some NBA jerseys, PEZ dispensers and other Americana to trade. Avoid street merchants, though.

Having family there will make it a lot of fun for you. Try to get a little further into the interior, to see some of the gorgeous scenery, too. Even little trips such as Tigre or taking the boat to Uruguay is fun.

When shopping, don't go into stores and try on a bunch of stuff and leave. If you go in and take up their time, they expect you to buy something. You will see people avidly window-shopping, making sure they want to go inside and spend money.

I love the people, they are wonderful in attitude and so, so intelligent and mature compared to us. And beautiful, too; everyone seems to be more svelte and sophisticated than the last. I hope you have fun!

Ok, i suppose that you're in Usa then the Ticket must cost about $ 800 with return, the cheapest tickets you can find in internet i think ,check in tripadvisor or something like that, if not American always got promotional prices. In Rosario you can stay in The Holiday Inn (about $ 70 the double room, and is a new hotel,very nice but you have to check in advance in Rosario there is so much tourism right now, or the new and luxury rostower hotel (rostower.com.ar) you can check in solans.com.ar and see the hotels Republica, Presidente and Riviera that are very good but no so new like the others two.If you want somehting cheap i recommend you to se the site www.rosario.com.ar/hoteles.
About clothes we are in springtime but it's cold, check the weather before your trip,the exchange rate is 1 dolar , 3,20 argentinian pesos. And be happy everything is much cheaper here.

About tickets i dont know.
If you have family in rosario, probably you will like to stay there and travel to B.A. in order to meet the city. But if you dont, the best would be staying in Buenos Aires and moving around starting here, because for the way the country has been made, all the routes end up in BA.

About where to stay. There are many hostels, deppending on your age this will be good or not. If not, start looking for hotels., If they are in downtown areas would be the best.

You should pack a little bit of everything. Now in october (spring) in BA there is a temerature of 15Âº, it can get cooler and also warmer. GET A RAINCOAT

The exchange rate here today is 3.20 PESOS = 1 DOLLAR

You should see how much money you have and make a day by day living according to that. And if you buy things in the correct place its not expensive. A toothpaste is 1 dollar, not 3
Movies are more expensive now,5 dollars.
Clubs and bars are the best and arent expensive.
For example. In San Telmo, a touristic area for clubs and restaurants, a 500cm3 of a awesome beer, impported costs 3 dollars.
In a regular bar a bottle of beer 1 ltre, is about 3 dollars or a little bit less.

Clothes are as expensive as in everywhere if you buy levis and big brands. If you dont buy that not. But with the exchange, probably it is cheaper than in dollar based economys.
About leather here is a hint that most of the tourist dont know.
For buying leather in buenos aires, you shouldn go to Florida y Corrientes or other touristic areas. Must take a taxi and go to a street called MURILLO (600), there are the public atention of the factorys that sell to touristic shops, adn it is a lot cheaper... About 100 dollars and more for what i have seen-

Is the stuff cheaper or more expensive there?
Usually, amazingly more expensive, even with the exchange rate at over 3 to 1. Except land transportation. Take taxis away, as it is really cheap compared with North-America.
Also eating out, is far more inexpensive, mostly if you have local family directling you to the right place.
Everything else you will find iy expensive.

ex: toothpaste = same or m,ore expensive (made in Brasil)
