Best location, close to downtown: San Telmo (cheapest, too)
Fancy: Recoleta, good location, nice place to walk around, more expensive.
Palermo: is nic but out of your way.

many tourist stay in Recoleta. it is not necessarily the cheapest, but the area is beautiful with trees, parks and the river front. there are a lot of tourist things to do, see, eat at, and shop in this area.
Palermo Soho, may be a little bit cheaper. it is an up and coming popular neighborhood, many restaurants. more places to eat than to see and do and the neighborhood is also known for the many parks, but you are a short cab, or train ride to the tourist attractions.
San Telmo is good for bars, clubs for Tango and some antique shops. i would not recommend staying there. during the day there is not much to do except window shop, and most other places are closed until "party time". it can also get a little more "questionably safe" there at night. |
