All the people in argentina is with their family on new year's eve so you'll probably be alone ...
but at 1 or 2 am the streets and bars start getting full of people and it continues after sunrise when the clubs close at 7:00 am as usual.

Mendozas the best...there is one street, and I can't remember the name, that has a lot of the hostils in town on it...my best suggestion is to find that street (not hard) and then go around to a few. We were at this great hostil with a pool and a bar, and if i could remember the name I would tell you. It will be impossible not to find tons of stuff to do...just ask the other tourists once you get there. Or, if you speak spanish, ask the latinos! They prob. know quite a bit more. |

I think the hostel the person before me is referring to is Wincas....it's really nice with a small pool, ping pong table and a decent bar, but it lacks air-con and it gets really hot in Mendoza during the summer.
There's a lot to do in Mendoza. You can go white water rafting, horseback riding, paragliding and of course the drunken bike tour through wine country. In general, it's just a cool place to chill out. As for NYE, I'm sure there's something big going on....just ask around. |

I do not know how many places will be open for that time of year concerning rafting, wine testing, tours, but probably for a good start. Late at night go to a street called Aristides Villanueva. That is where the night life begins then about 1am to 2am they head for the discos and dance places.
Many places in Latin America New years eve is a lot of private partys with family. |

I have lived in Mendoza for a few years and it's great.Try to go to a high spot in new years eve to watch the great fireworks and i you want you can buy some from local shop and please visit the vineyards,the wine is great. |
