I don't know how long you're staying for... but you'll definitely want to check out
-La Boca - cute colorful shops with lots of artists and awesome food.
-Evita's grave - It's under "Eva Duarte"... up near recoleta.
-Plaza 25 Mayo - Lots of history here, as well as the Casa Rosada
-The commentator below made some awesome suggestions regarding soccer matches while you're in Argentina. Definitely check out the Boca Juniors- they're considered one of the best teams in the world.
-Nightlife- The parties in B.A. are some of the best I've ever been to. They don't really start until 1am, but they go all night. Check out Opera Bay- one of my favorites.
- Steak - the meat in Argentina is some of the best in the world. You can get an incredible steak for less than 10 dollars. Definitely check it out.
- Shopping - Florida street and surrounding areas offer great places to shop.
If you've got a car and some time, you will want to check out La Plata as well, and if you've got LOTS of time, definitely head westward to Mendoza (really really good wine) and Las Leñas (good skiing/hiking). Don't forget about Uruguay as well- you can catch a ferry for around 40 bucks to see Colonia or Montevideo, two of my favorite cities in the world.
Have a great time- Buenos Aires is truly fascinating, and porteños REALLY know how to party! |

The Buenos Aires Pub Crawl
|
Buenos Aires really has a lot to offer everyone, no matter what you may be coming to the city for. The food is amazing, with some of the best steak/meat in the world. Be sure to hit up a parilla or two and the empanadas all over the city make for perfect snacks. For shopping you must check out Florida Street as it has tons of stores, but be cautious as it gets crowded during the day and is prime for pickpockets. My favorite area for shopping is Palermo Hollywood, which has a lot of cool little shops with a more welcoming atmosphere. If you can, try to catch a Boca/River Plate futbol match as it is an experience unlike any other in the world. Nightlife in Buenos Aires is out of this world. It is not uncommon to get home from the club at 7 or 8am. The best hour of the club is usually 4-5am, and most people dont leave their houses til 1-2am. If you want to have a crazy night, be sure to come hang out with us on the Buenos Aires Pub Crawl. Its the best way to take in B.A. nightlife and meet people from all walks of life.
Hope this helps!

Do not bother trying to see Buenos Aires City by car, waste of time and dangerous to those not used to the poor standards of driving and very irresponsible attitude of drivers, even the professionals. When using the highways drive with care and remember that you may well be a good driver but the roads in Argentina are treacherous!
Destinations close to Capital Federal I recommend:
K/s by car:
CĂłrdoba 689
Paraná 475
Santa Fe 485
JunĂn 260
La Plata 64
San Antonio de Areco 114
San Isidro 22
San Miguel del Monte 109
Pilar 62
Tigre 33
Copy and paste these to Google search or Wicki and you will find a ton of information. |
