Hey!

I've lived in Buenos Aires for a while now. I love it here. While i've heard that it is called "the Paris of the South" I have to disagree. That really doesn't do either city very much justice. Both are special, unique places, and should not be compared. From my experiences, Buenos Aires is a very warm, loving city, that is overflowing with culture, excitement and nightlife. There is so much to do. If you ever come here, i recommend going to this site: www.BsAs4u.com
it should help you figure out everything you want and need to to when visiting such an amazing city.

Good luck!

Buenos is indeed an amazing city. Just walking the streets makes you feel more cultural :)
as far as what to do, there's so much: Museums, Plazas, La Boca, Palermo, San Telmo, Shopping, Paragliding, Beaches, skydiving and the best stakes in the world.
I miss it already...

check this page out it can give you some more direction and tips on how to get by.

yes Argentina is amazing to visit. i use to visit here, now i live here. the best time to come would depend on what you want in weather.

in the spring(oct-dec)/summer(dec-feb) there are :

beaches approx. 4 or more hours by train,
city tourist stuff
bars/parties/dancing till 5am followed by breakfast, then you go home
sipping beer by the river
sipping mate in the park
boat rides in el tigre
fairs and festivals
shows,theatre

in the fall(march-may)/ winter(june-Aug):

these are the culture months, so...

more shows and theatre
skiing on the west side of argentina (Andes mountains)
same parties
same fairs
same sipping by the river and the parks same tourist sight seeing
just colder, and wetter.
