Bus service in Argentina? |
My wife and I are travelling down to South America and are planning a flight from Buenos Aires to Trelew. We actually need to go to Puerto Madryn. I have read that there is a bus service that does this. Would anyone know where I can find the schedule for this bus? Also, we are planning our flight to Trelew on Dec. 25 so do the buses operate on Christmas?

Yes, there is a bus that you can take from Retiro (the Bus Station in Buenos Aires) to Trelew or from Retiro to Puerto Madryn. If you flight from Buenos Aires to Trelew you can also take a bus from Trelew to Puerto Madryn. The following sites can provide you with your itinerary:

According to sites above they have daily departures, please call or email these companies to find out but I am more than sure that they do have services on the 25th. Also keep in mind that you need to take a taxi from Airport to Retiro (bus station in Buenos Aires) or/and from Trelew Airport to the Bus Station in Trelew. I am sure that if you write to them in English you will get a reply in English.

Ok, first, depends on where you are at.
If you are in Buenos Aires, you could go to a district called Retiro.
There, is the official bus station (long distance: Estaciòn Retiro)that goes to every part of Argentina.
Buses operate on every day of the year.
From Buenos Aires to Puerto Madryn is like 1000 miles, so you need long distance. To go to Retiro, you can take the bus 22 (cuz there goes by numbers) and you ask the driver if it goes to Retiro.

Well I will try to help you, there are 67 Km from Trelew to Puerto Madryn, first go from the airport to the " terminal de omnibus "( bus station) of Trelew .It is:

there are many bus Companies, unfortunately there are no sites, but here you can find all the phone numbers of the companies, go to

If you speak spanish call to the companies and ask for the schedule, cause you are gonna be there just in Christmas day, ia not gonna be easy to find a bus if you don't call ahead.
