I recommend you change your cash in small amounts in either Thomas Cook or any major bank. BA will accept all major credit cards and yes, all banks will charge a fee, albeit a small one. It is safer to change your money there, once you know how much money you'll be spending. Dont take travellers check though. |

I would wait and take money out down here. And the first poster was way off about credit cards in Cordoba and in the interior in general. I lived in Córdoba for 2 years and used my credit card all the time! same for San Luis, San Juan and Mendoza.
If you are using a check card, always tell them to run it as a debit card though. That way you avoid fees often charged when making a credit card transaction. |

You shouldn't change all your money before travelling. Here you'll find a bank but it'll cost you a fee. And it's not true there're cities do not accept credit cards, in almost every city (although you travel to an isolated place) credit cards are accepted...

you are going to pay fees no matter what. i'd just wait til i got there, im sure the fees are less.
and be careful, unless you're in B.A., no other cities take credit cards (there are still places to exchange money but you need cash to do so)....

PS in response to someone saying all cities take credit cards... I was in Cordoba, a city of 1.8 million people... and unless you were in the mall it was VERY hard to find places that accepted credit cards. Even fancy restaurants, most did not. I didn't mean it as the entire city banned the use of cards, i meant it as don't rely on the establishment accepting them.
And what the other person said about traveler's checks is right, don't bother. |

I would change the money over there, you will have some fees but it is not much, plus depending on how much you use you will change your $ to pesos. |
