well, it depends on many things. besides food which is cheap here, will you be renting or staying with a family? buying a cell phone here? having cable in your apt? etc. buying a car?
for example
food :
1 espresso 3.00-5.00 pesos
milk- 3.00 pesos for 1 liter (4 liters in a gallon)
beer- liter bottles 2.80 pesos-imported 6.00pesos (individual bottles are very expensive here about 3-4 pesos each)
meals:at a restaurant
breakfast including tea or coffee and argentine pastry 10 pesos
lunch (pizza individual with soda) 15 pesos
dinner ( including steak, salad, glass of wine, dessert) 35.00-50.00 pesos
of course if you are making your own meals think 1/2 to 1/3 these prices. i usually spend about 500.00 pesos a week at the food store for a family of 3 people. which includes all our breakfast, lunch dinner and drinks, and snacks, things for the bathroom (soap, shampoo etc), and the misc. needed cleaning/hygienic items (toilet paper, etc)
to be honest, most things are expensive here that does not concern food. insurance for auto, cell phones and service, cable prices are all equal to or more than the U.S.
i would figure at least 3,000.00 pesos a month, but that of course depends on your living arrangemnets here. apartment rentals generally start at 500.00 pesos a month and keep going up.
i give figures in pesos because i do not know where you are coming from (U.S., Europe, etc) and the exchange rate of course varies. |
