Can you recommend any idyllic beach locations and hotels in argentina for a honeymoon?

There are some lovely beaches in Argentina. Please check out Mar del Plata - it is very nice.

Here is a list of hotels in the area: http://www.argentinas-hotels.com/hotels_mardelplata.htm#hotel

A good guide book to Argentina will also provide a lot of good tips for site-seeing in the area.

Here is Yahoo's guide to Mar del Plata: http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-480660-mar_del_plata_vacations-i

Enjoy your honeymoon (wherever it might be!)

are you nuts? its all rough and rugged around argentina and is not renowed for its idyllic beaches.

Try Brasil or Venezuela

Depends on what you are searching for: if what you want are palm trees, white sand and an ocean quiet and warm as a swimming pool, then go to the north-east of Brazil - any place from Bahia to the north -
If what you want is a quiet and classy comfortable place for eating fantastic during your Honeymoon, then I recommend you Carilo, and other small towns in the surroundings. Those places are near Pinamar, another beautiful place with lots of green and open spaces where classy people like to spend their time.
Sorry, I can not give you info about hotels, but watch out with the prices and your wallet once walking at the airport, etc as soon as you arrive to any destination in Latin America.
Enjoy your honeymoon and your trip!

I agree with many of the posters here- Argentina is not known for its "idyllic" beaches, certainly not in the romantic caribean romantic style. But the resorts mentioned - Mar del Plata or Carilo, or exciting Punta del Este nearby in Uruguay are very nice, in a more crowded European way, they have their own chic. Also, what time of the year would you be going? June july and August are winter months and by no means beach time! at this time of year there are gorgeous, idyllic, and wildly romantic winter havens such as Bariloche, San Martin de los Andes or beautiful Villa la Angostura- check the Llao Llao resort ! For idyllic beaches in South America northern Brazil or Venezuela are the places to go - check out Los Roques, for scuba, sailing and long stretches of white sand beaches all for yourselves! You can either stay at a posada or go sailing, which is a wonderful adventure i highly reccomend.
