Yes and No !!
We are Latinos, but when somebody talks about latin american music for example, the argentinian music is not included.It is more Central America music.
Our Roots are Latin,since 80% of the population is caucasian and italian or spaniards descendant. But our cultural behavior is more european than latin american.
Now, since my point of view, we have to define better if we want to classify . For example, to USA Americans, the rest of Americans are not Americans; An italian is not Latin (when Italy is the birthplace of the Latin language; a Spaniard is not Hispanic (when the word hispanic is coming from the word Spain, and is the denomination for those places colonized and with cultural spaniard roots). Do you know where the Caucasian Mountains are? I'm pretty sure if I show you a pic of a guy from there you are gonna tell me he is not caucasian!!.
For example I am Argentinian, caucasian, hispanic, latin and western european descendant and sometimes when I was looking for job I had no idea what to put as race cause they ask for pick only one option. |
