Going to Buenos Aires, Argentina-what should I make sure and see? What should I bring there for gifts?

The website suggested by one of the other answerers has great ideas. Here are some of mine;
Tango show is a must, your friends could advise you. Eat heavenly steaks or churrasco, possibly in a place called "La vaca que crie" (the cow I reared) on that long road full of restaurants by the river, I forget the name. Have some "Helado almendrado con chocolate caliente" (almond ice cream with warm chocolate sauce) as a typical desert. Go to Lavalle street, full of large cinemas, better than Leicester Square in London. (Maybe it doesn't exist any more, I left 20 yrs ago). Buy leather goods or small stone eggs for your friends over here, much cheaper than in Europe. To take there, maybe some typically English tea, depending on how well you know your friends and whether they are English too, Typhoo, etc. Mini collection of English jams. Something from Harrods (everybody has heard of that!), maybe key fobs, carrier bags? And that other suggestion - English magazines, paperback? I remember books in English were expensive. As for gifts to take to Argentina, thereÂ´s almost everything you have in the US or Europe as well, but if youÂ´re visiting friends, I always take magazines and they are most always welcome, also some nice chocolates, etc. But I canÂ´t think of something you couldnÂ´t buy in Argentina.

As for gifts to take home, I suggest leather wares (the leather is so gorgeous and silky). Nice and always welcome are also alfajores, itÂ´s a sweet a little bit like a big sandwich cookie, only the dough is softer. It comes in a variety of flavors, my favorite of course, dulce de leche, but also in chocolate, nut, fruit jam, etc. The most traditional ones are from "havanna" and you can get them even at the airport terminal (but youÂ´ll pay a little more there than in the shops downtown).

Oh, eat churrasco.
Go and see those tango shows (though the music and dance scene is quite varied and hip and there's plenty more to choose from)
I take it that you're visiting friends, just let them be your guides and see what they have in store for you.
As for presents, again, depends on your friends.
What's something typical/special from your hometown? Something that reflects the place where you live?
