I stayed in Buenos Aires for about 6 months, and while I was there I took a trip to Mendoza. There is a lot to do in BA, and its really cheap right now so its a nice time to go. There is a very lively nightlife and quite a few sites to see in the city. Also, many of the demonstrations are quite exciting to watch. As for Mendoza, it possesses a much different pace of life than BA. It is a very nice relaxing city, with pretty parks. Also, the wine tours are there are great places to get very nice quality wine for relatively little. I wouldn't stay in Mendoza too long however, as it can get boring unless you plan several day trips into the surrounding countryside.

I've been to Buenos Aires several times. Last time was in July 2004. But then again, that's no wonder. I am from Argentina. Buenos Aires is 500 km. away from my home, in Santa Fe.

On the other hand, I haven't visited Mendoza (with a Z) yet. Too bad, because they say it's an awesome city.

chokito

I've been to Buenos Aires several times (I'm part Argentine). It's a great city, very active, and certainly the most European of all the big South American cities. Very lively arts scene, too.

bubba
