Hola,
Buenos Aires is a Latin American city with a European flavor. People like calling it "The Paris of South America," but that doesn't do it justice. BA has it's very own unique character that makes it stand out from every other city in the world. There are so many things to do in the city, with lots of art, history, culture and an incredible nightlife. And, you're only a short local flight away from many great natural sights, like the glaciers in Ushuaia and the amazing waterfall of Iguazu.

Buenos Aires is a city that literally does not sleep. eating dinner at 10 pm followed by going to party till dawn and finishing up with fresh pastries. A city with people from a culture that touching and kissing one another hello is normal. Buenos Aires is a lively town with the never ending day of things to see and do. people here can enjoy their lunch in one of the numerous parks surrounding the city, or in a square on a bench under a 100 year old tree. time is no issue here in B.A. take your time and enjoy it seems to be the motto. although the city becomes quite busy, especially during working hours, there is always a place to find that is quiet away from from the hustle.
B.A.'s archetecture has an old meets new feel. from the el Centre where the buildings can be over 100 years old, to Puert Madero where the buildings are less than a decade old. no two buildings, or homes look exactly alike, so there is always something new to see as you walk down the cobble stone sidewalks.
B.A. is flurishing in cultural events. from a broadway like shows to art centers. art fairs are held every weekend in the center of town as well as the outskirts of the city. jugglers, clowns and other street performers entertain you while you wait at a street light, or in the middle of the town square as you shop along the outside mall on Florida Street.
Steak is quite an exceptional treat here. Parrillas (BBQ) are on every corner of town to enjoy the sweet smell of the open charcoal grill. Pizza is as thin as NY, with the strong home-made cheese mozzerella dripping down your slice. empanadas are dantilizing, stuffed doe with choices of meat, chicken vegetables, or ham and cheese. pastry shops call you inside as you pass by the fantastic smell of sugar, dulce de leche and jelly baking. or ice-cream as thick and rich as it should be. with chunks of chocolate,or swirls of dulce de leche or bits of real fruit in every bite.to drink? well, wine is cheaper than soda, so why not get a glass of one of the only countries in the world that make Malbec.
enjoy the city, but do not forget about the other 95% of Argentina that is full of different landscapes, from the dessert like terrain in Salta, to the gushing waterfalls of Iguazu, the Andes Mountains, the flatlands of the Pampas, Glaciers to the sandy beaches. |
