How do you go about renting an apartment for two years in Buenos Aires?

Buenos Aires Guide

This a question we get asked all the time at Buenos Aires Stay, http://www.buenosairesstay.com.

If you want to enter into a rental agreement for a period over 6 months, the contract periods are generally fixed for two years with a notice period agreed with the property owner, and require a form of guarantee. The guarantor must usually prove assets (property) to interest most landlords, and many will not sign such a lease unless the guarantor and property are in Buenos Aires.

This often puts longer leases and cheaper rents out of the grasp of most visitors to Buenos Aires.

However, do not be fooled, rents even for Argentines are on the increase and many of my friends, professionals, earning good incomes, are still at home with their parents at age 30+.

Your alternative is to use a good property consultancy like Buenos Aires Stay to find and negotiate 6 monthly rental agreements on your behalf.
