How expensive in Buenos Aires?
I will be flying in to BA and backpacking upto Rio. What are hostel prices per night - please if you answer could you state what currency that is in :) Also are there many trips that travel upto rio from here as the trips priced in the UK are horrendous.
Thanks
well, for us it's very expensive..
but it depends where you go
Esteros Viajes
You may spent between 20 and 40 dollars per night in a hostel in Buenos Aires. Maybe you can find cheaper ones if you share the room
About travelling to Rio, you should buy a flight ticket to Aerolineas Argentinas, Tam or Varig. The problem with the packages is that most of them are for 1 week.
So let me advice you to buy a flight ticket and some hotel nights, not to stay there for too much time.
If you are travelling just to Buenos Aires and Rio, consider visiting another excellent destinations as Iguazu or Calafate in Argentina.
I am a travel agent of Buenos Aires city, member of Esteros Viajes travel agency, if you need any help, do not hesitate in contacting us.
From BA to RIO you can go from AR or through UY/Uruguay
Through AR best option is bus, i.e. Pluma

Through UY, cross Rio de la Plata in ferry BuqueBus:

Remember it is a long way from BA to RIO!
Suggestion:
Fly from UK to EZE/Buenos Aires and R/T return from GIG/Rio (it is an open-jaw) plus a EZE>RIO or SAO flight via Gol or TAM;
