How much of an issue is racism in Argentina?

An Argentine friend of mine told me that light-skinned Argentines often discriminate against darker skinned Argentines and foreigners. I am planning a trip to Argentina this winter and am curious to how it is.

You would be surprised?
For some reason I can not fully understand there are very few blacks in the country...therefore the girls fight against each other to date one as soon as they arrive. No kidding!
As many other places on the earth - including the US - Argentina is a country of emigrants mainly from Spain and Italy. In the present sometimes is hard to recognize where an Argentinian is coming for, since the interracial marriage is happening for at least more than a century. For instance you will find a bit darker skinned people with blue or green eyes, having blond kids, etc.
Enjoy your trip, you have chosen a beautiful country to visit!

Racism in Argentina is like in any other country in the world. There are the ones that respect the other person no matter their condition and the ones that discriminate.

But I think it's not a racist country, at least not with black people.

about as much as discrimination anywhere else (and believe me, i've lived in the usa, argentina, india, japan, and france)

whether to worry about it or not: there's no lynchings so i guess that's satisfactory

There aren't that many racist people in Argentina.I won't say there aren't because if I did I'd be lying.But I don't think it's a problem because it's visited by so many people.Asians,French,Italians.
