Argentine electricity is 220 Volts 50Hz.

As the previous poster stated most electronics with an exterior power source such as computers and most things that have a charger will be usable in Argentina just look on the charger for Input 100V - 240V ~ 50 60 Hz. Argentina is on 220 volts so your small appliances like hair dryers (unless they are for travel and have a switch to 220) won't survive being plugged in. Check out the following website for additional information on world voltages and what plugs you need.

I just returned from Buenos Aires and was able to buy a adapter plug for my computer for less then $1usd or you can buy one before you leave Canada. (FYI wi-fi is available in a lot of restaurants.)

Argentina uses 220V, 50 hz. Most of your electronics with an external power supply, including your power book will work. Appliances like hair driers and curling irons will burn up.

Look on your external power supplies, if it says something like:

Input 100V - 240V ~ 50 60 Hz

Your electronics will work. However you will need to get an adapter plug (actually you may need 3 different adapter plugs depending on where in Argentina you are going). These adapters cost about $3US and you can get them at a luggage store, Radio Shack, REI and at the airport.

You can also buy a transformer. A transformer will convert the 220V to 110V. However, this is only good for very low power items like a radio. If you plug a 1500W hair drier into it smoke, sparks and flames may result.

I had a MAC and always have trouble with my internet connection in Buenos Aires so if work is business critical bring a IBM compat; but never a power problem.

Argentina Electricity is like in Europe: 220 V and 50 Hz

If you have a notebook no problem if you have Hairdryer yes...you need a converter (Which is a bit havy)....
