Pocha

I am planning on going to Argentina within the next year or so, what should I expect?

Last time I was there was about 7 years ago. I know for sure things have changed, like the economy and other social matters, so I would like some information for people who go there to visit from the U.S. Thanks!

Hello Pocha,
Argentina as a whole it will surprise you, not to mention Buenos Aires. I spend a couple of month every year and love it all the way (have to tell you I was born there).
To give you a bird's view about what to expect, do and visit, let me point you to the following links...

I was there in November and the economy, while much better than it was right after the peso collapse in 2001, is still in turmoil a bit. Inflation is pretty bad and the price for things seems to go up daily from what I was told by folks living there. Still, for Americans it's still pretty inexpensive. Clearly the infrastructure has suffered since the collapse. Parks are a bit more overgrown, sidewalks and roads have more cracks, there's more trash around...simply because there isn't as much money to repair and maintain things anymore. Socially everything seems fine and Argentine's are still among the friendliest people in the world.

Hi,
yes Argentina changed a lot, about the economy maybe is little expensive for us,but its very convenient for foreingers.
each year Argentina receives more tourists non only for the exchange also for places, great prices and we are very helpful with them.
I tell you because currently I am working in tourism ( temporary real state) but I like to show the city.
Argentina is very famous for ''tango'',wines, buildings and you have restaurants, pubs and nitepubs open for the entire nite.
if you want you can see the site where I work :)
