I don't need to do anything to get a tourist visa for Argentina, right? ?
I am from the U.S. and I just wanted to make sure that I don't forget something crucial and not be allowed into Argentina. From my understanding your passport is just stamped with a tourist visa upon entry to a country.
ALSO, is it true that I could just leave the country (to Chile or Brazil or wherever) for a few days when I am close to the expiration on my tourist visa and it will be renewed upon reentry?
Argentina is currently not charging a visa for Americans (although there are rumors this may change to a reciprocity fee in March). So all you should need is your valid passport with empty pages and at least 6 months left before the expiration date. Also, you can cross the border to Chile or Uruguay once your 90 tourist visa is about to expire to renew it. But Paraguay, Bolivia, and Brazil all charge visas for Americans
