Las CaÃ±itas is a small but thriving part of Palermo. It is approximately six blocks square (growing) at the north-end of Palermo and is perfect for discovering greater Palermo. Although small, this former slum is a newly discovered gem that has become well known for its young â€˜hipâ€™ night life, great clubs and culturally diverse restaurants. You can find everything - Chinese, Thai, Japanese (sometimes in the same restaurant) or great Jewish and Eastern European cuisine hidden amongst some of Buenos Airesâ€™ newest apartment buildings.
Close to the polo fields and a short walk from Palermo's famous parks, Las CaÃ±itas is a relaxing place to stay with convenient access to wider Buenos Aires. It is a barrio that I like to visit at night, the crowd is young and professional, and you do not feel that you are in a throng of Buenos Airesâ€™ tourist traps. You actually get to meet some real porteÃ±os! I highly recommend Las CaÃ±itas to travellers who want to be close to Palermo without breaking the bank. Lots of the newer Buenos Aires apartment blocks have both swimming pools and gyms, and many younger landlords have invested in this lesser known part of Palermo and tend to use tasteful neutral dÃ©cor and modern furnishing to ensure you have a very comfortable Buenos Aires Stay. I have to tell you that I have been travelling back and forward to Buenos Aires since 1999 and I have used many of the apartment rental agencies and the only company that I have found that does exactly what they say they will do is http://www.buenosairesstay.com and if you look at the various comments on the internet about the various companies you will see many satisfied customers referring travellers to BA Stay becuase they simply get it right and they are very honest. I am back in BA next week for the 11th time and cannot wait, should anyone want to know more just email me timarnold1973@yahoo.com, I will happily give some pointers and hope to use my experiences to become a BA guide each summer and teach in the US during the winter months. I have not yet found the gumption pack up and to leave home 100% and might add that the winter in BA is not that great! Bring on the Spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
