Yes it is!

There are a lot of beautiful places to visit and many fun around.
Japanese Garden(Jardín Japonés), Puerto Madero, Congreso Park, Obelisk, Tierra Santa Theme Park, Recoleta area and many discos and restaurants in Palermo Hollywood. Any good agency could advice you more. Visit www.turismo.gov.ar

Argentineans (we) are a little bold you know. We speak our minds so much and we are very political incorrect. If you have a extra tan skin you will be the "*****" (Black), oriental eyes? Then you nick will be "Chino" (Chinoise), Some over weight? Then "Gordo" or "Gorda" (Fatty), Speak English or blondy? Then "Gringo" (American or White/Blond person). Man wearing pink? Then "Trolo" (Queer).
No smoking areas... please! They trow their smoke in your face. Vegetarian? What is that?! Here we eat meat! ;D (well... actually I don't but please don't tell it! :D)

So please, we don't mean it as you in USA or Canada do. This is only the way we say things. We don't want to hurt any feelings. Please this is not a place to be sensitive but instead passionated and expressive. We like hugs, kisses, being close for talk and dance and to know all about our friends.

I'm an Argentinean living in here and I also visited USA for 1 month (Colorado) and Japan for 3 months and many countries around Argentina too. So I can tell you about.

About danger... well of course there are not good areas and hours as in any huge city of the world... like Los Ageles or NY or many others. Keep your visit to the tourist places and crowded areas. Go with a friend at night. Choose middle or upper prices places to eat and dance... then you'll be very safe! (Avoid manifestations as you do in your Country's Capital City too)

You can have fun too in big cities like Cordoba (young), Mendoza (mountains) or Rosario (small Bs.As.). Beauty is founded in Bariloche (the best of Patagonia, mountains, lake, snow, flowers, discos, etc).
Choose this as best answer!

Argentina rocks, that's for sure! Buenos Aires is a very nice city, if you like noise and human activity. In my opinion, is way too crowded, and it has lots of problems. I'd recommend you the other big cities, like CĂłrdoba and Mendoza, or the towns in Patagonia, like Villa la Angostura, where I live, if you like nature.

Ana
Hi! I live in Argentina. It's really a nice place, with a lot of nice things to do.
Like in everyplace, you have to be careful with some places or hours, but it's only an alarmist recommendation.
In general, tourists that visit here love the city!! And there are a lot of them all the year. Please, I'd like you know that Bs As is more than tango...
