Is it correct to say "Forgot you something?" to write in a hotel brochure? |
The manager of the hotel where I work in San Nicolás, Argentina, wants to make a brochure to advertise sellings in the hotel. He wants to write "Forgot you something? but I think that it is better "Forgot something?" Can you tell me which is better or suggest another? |

"Have you forgotten something?" is more gramattically correct.
Though I understand where your manager is coming from, it's a difficult language to translate to. English is a tough language if it is not your first language. |

You are correct. It would be proper to say "Forgot something?" and not "Forgot you something?". |

"forgot something" is better, es mejor. como en espanol, el 'tu' o subjeto no es necesario aqui. a mi, no me gusta 'forgot you something' es mal ingles a los nativos. buena suerte. |

Hi Bolfal!
It is "forget Something?" |

I would say:
Did you forget something?
It would help if you could tell us what the whole thought is and why he wants to say "forget something?" in the brochure. is it to tell people what happens if they leave something at the hotel? I am not sure why you would say that in a brochure advertising a hotel.
Maybe you can say:
Don't forget to stay at our hotel when you are in town! So you don't forget us, here is our address and phone number for you to put in your wallet!
(or better yet...enclose a magnet or a keychain)
I think what he means is to advertise items clients in the hotel may have forgotten to PACK. In that case, I would say:
Did you forget something?
We have what you need: toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, tampons, razors, diapers, Tylenol, etc. all for sale right here in the hotel!! Don't worry, if you forgot to pack it in your suitcase, we have it here. |

the correct sentence is
"forgot something" : se olvido algo
because " forgot you something" : se olvido de usted algo , is wrong...............
most correct is: you has forgotten something
