planning a driving trip in argentina and i want to know if there actually IS gps in the southern hemispere, and if so, do rental cars in argentina come equipped with gps systems like those in the u.s. and europe.
its unlikly that you will get a car with GPS in argentina... However GPS (by definition) will work in argentina (it is called GLOBAL positioning system for a reason ;))).... I know that any GPS system with world maps will work there... But dont be suprised if alot of the smaller roads aint on it....

I believe it does not have one currently as the Europeans are terribly behind when it comes to launching their own GPS satellites.

Just go to the triple Ain the US or the ACA (Automobile Club Argentino)in Argentina and get some good maps.... they will be a lot more fun!
