Is there any way to ease culture shock?

My boyfriend lives in Argentina and I've considered making the move possibly sometime next year. Not permanently but for some time ..
Sometimes I get myself excited for the adventure and other times I'm scared to death!
Any advice??

Jump right into it, adapt quickly to the way they live there. Learn the language. You'll be just fine! And don't try to judge: "Back where I came from we did it this way" or something like that. Just do what they do in Argentina. Good luck to you and Merry X-Mas!

Find a yogurt shop.... there is the first culture you need anywhere you go.

.
yes. contact your country's consulate when you get to Argentina...and in the meantime, contact the argentinian consulate in your country and become acquainted with the culture and life you will be expected to live-how to conduct yourself...what to expect etc. when u arrive.

I suggest consulates because you can then feel a home base connection and be safe and well informed.

Take a 2 or 3 weeks vacation trip, first!

Then you will be able to decide if AR is for you.

In any case quite an experience, JUST DO IT!!!
