Living in Buenos Aires?

Does anyone know a good website or phone # for someone looking to find a low rent apartment in Buenos Aires? Also, if anyone is from B.A. and has some advice on which areas of the city are best to live in, I would love to hear it. Thanks.

I like Palermo, especially if you get a place relatively close to the subte (subway). Tourists looking for cheaper apartments or hostels often stay in San Telmo which is central but can feel a little unsafe at night. Belgrano is a bit too far away from the action for my tastes. Puerto Madero is very high-end but boring and isolated. Recoleta is upscale and well-located, but you won't find anything cheap there.

If you book online before you go you generally pay more. If you want to save $$$ it is probably best to go there, then check with agents in the area you like. They post ads in their windows. You can often negotiate a lower price. Check Craigslist too.

I rented through M.Risso. It´s a real estate agent who has a lot of nice apartments in the best areas, such as Recoleta, Puerto Madero, Belgrano and Palermo. Their webpage is www.mrisso.com
I rented a beautiful apartment in the heart of Recoleta, just one block of one of the major shopping malls there. in Posadas Street.

Good Luck
