You should try Gran Hotel Argentino http://www.hotel-argentino.com.ar/sindex.htm is cheap clean and breakfast included and you are near the Obelisco on a side of 9 de julio avenue. Besides that you can do a lot of things like go to have meat at a Puerto Madero Restaurant (there are more than 30 restaurants in that area), then go to La Boca and visit Caminito and the Boca Stadium, you can go to San Telmo and go dancing or to see a great tango show.
In Argentina we dont have cold winter as you do ...we never have snow in Buenos Aires but the summer is better not to be in the city. So, i recomend you come here on march, april or september october . You can also visit La Patagonia which is the south part ofthe country and you can go to Bariloche and even to Ushuaia (check those placeson the net). Of course you can go to the upper part and go to the Iguazu Falls and stay at the Sheraton Iguazu which is in the middle of the rain forest! the best place ever!
For nice beaches you will have to wait until summer time and go to the coast (january febreaury). In Cordoba, the city where i live you can find lakes and mountains ...you can ride horses and enjoy nature only 20 minutes away from the city and you have the cheapest deals ever in hotels...so...i hope is ok and if you need any more advice just ask me |

The Hotel Costa Rica on Costa Rica St. in Palermo is a good value...Shop in La Boca, see footy or polo , make sure to eat PROVOLETA and steak...and see tango in San telmo. And take a 50 minute boat (Buquebus) over to Colonia, Uruguay . |

Solar Soler is a really nice cheap Hotel / B&B in the hip, modern, trendy Palermo area of Buenos Aires. It costs about 56 USD a night and their website is http://www.solarsoler.com.ar/
If you'd like to see a more traditional, rough and ready area of the city, try The Cocker Hotel in San Telmo, Buenos Aires - it really is beautiful - http://www.thecocker.com/ (costs about 70 USD a night). |
