How about a sightseeing tour by bike? My sister took a biking tour through www.urbanbiking.com last year and had a great time. She went to Tigre but apparently they offer tours to other parts of Buenos Aires too.
Another idea might be a day trip to Colonia in Uruguay. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site - definitely worth a visit. You can book tickets or a day package here - www.buquebus.com or www.coloniaexpress.com |

lucky, I want to go back to Buenos Aires, anyway, the best tours you should book with your travel agency. You should to see Nueve de Julio, which is the widest street in Argentina, that's where they have the huge building. La Boca is a popular tourist attraction. |

There are actually several bike companies:
www.Labicicletanaranja.com.ar
is another one who is really good.
There are some fun walking tours, so you can avoid the bus thing.
Tigre is great, but try to do something different. You can go to an island and do the beach and wake boarding thing with:
www.IGoBuenosAires.com
I think they also do the walking tours, along with some other day tours.
I would say avoid your foreign based travel agency as (in my opinion) locals are often a)more knowledgeable b)more affordable.
Hope that helps!
Oh, and you won´t need a tour to see 9th de julio. It is the main boulevard seperating the town. If you miss it, well...
Same goes for the obelisco.
See La Boca Sunday afternoon, when its in full show mode. Otherwise, its actually a pretty sketchy neighborhood where LOTS of people end up less a camara or few bucks (especially if you wonder into the less touristy streets).
San Telmo is great on Sunday.
Again, I think www.IGobuenosaires.com does a tour to san telmo and boca on Sundays.
The bike tours roll through there other days of the week. |
