Mrs. Obama rules!
No, just go ahead as there is no resentment (either in Argentina or the rest of South America!!) . Let me tell you that Argentina has a huge population which is of British descent. Even when the Falkland war was going on, those of British descent were quite safe in Argentina. Just in Buenos Aires there are 4 British Schools and they are very popular and the best! Personally, I know lots of people there (friends of mine) who are Argentinians but with surnames like Mac Cormack, Drabble, Pearson, Yeatts, Phillips, etc. They never had any trouble there, so just go ahead and fly to Argentina. I've been 7 times, I love the capital city but best of all I love Patagonia. There is this myth that Argentinians are arrogant and think very high of themselves, but in fact are very nice people, I have always had a wonderful time there (and my surname is Irish!!!)

I live in Argentina and I can tell you there's no resentment at all against British people, at least not widespread.

Our countries used to have a very close relationship in the past, and many Argentines are of British descent, or curious about your country, so don't expect any hate based on your nationality.

Of course, it would be better to avoid bringing up the subject of the war altogether. Many people here don't really care about it, but there are some that do. But even among these people I don't think you'll find any senseless hate.

I hope you have a nice time!

No, I don´t think so...I´m from Córdoba, Argentina and here there are a lot of tourists from everywhere, and people is really kind with them.
