What's the difference between the two train services in Buenos Aires?

I guess you mean between Tren interurbano and Tren de la Costa? Basically the route and the fact that Tren de la Costa is much more expensive. Tren inter urbano goes from Retiro to Tigre and it's more cheap and the actual train is a bit old and it's for lots and lots of people to travel at the same time. Tren de la Costa goes to Tigre too but stopping in places like estacion San Isidro (mini mall in open space) and it's kind of new and has airconditioned. It is much much smaller and really it depends where you live and where do you want to go to catch one or the other. I've caught both!

The are several train services in Buenos Aires, aside form the Tren de la Costa. Off the top of my head I can think these commuter train lines - Belgrano, San Martin, Mitre, Sarmiento.

In Buenos Aires, you have both overground, with various services that serve the city and the rest of Argentina.

You also have the Subte, subway, that is great for getting around the city.

Subte and links-
The current network comprises five underground lines (labelled "A" to "E", and further identified by different colours), covering a total track length of 48.9 km. There is also one surface light rail line (the premetro). Under the current usage patterns, the entire system - operated by private contractor MetrovĂas - is overtaxed, and during weekdays overcrowded and under serviced. An expansion program is planned, and it is expected to expand to 89 km by 2011. Daily ridership is 1,3 million and on the increase.

Fares are cheap (70 centavos, or about 23 U.S. cents) and are in fact cheaper than the city buses. While tokens have been used in the past, at present, riders purchase either single-use or multi-use cards (called SubtePass) with a magnetic strip or use Contactless cards called SubteCard) which can be rechargeable with cash or linked to a bank account for automatic debit.

LĂnea A Opened to the public on 14 December 1913, 7.13 km, 14 stations.
LĂnea B Opened on 17 October 1930, 8.94 km, 15 stations.
LĂnea C Opened on 9 November 1934, 4.4 km, 9 stations.
LĂnea D Opened on 3 June 1937, 10.41 km. 16 stations.
