I agree with Lux Lucis, not with Carlos O.(he is talking about Argentina, not Buenos Aires)
I would add:
The Buenos Aires Hippodrome.
Old Palermo neighborhood.
The Art Museum (In Recoleta Zone)
On Sunday morning is a must to visit the Feria de San Telmo (antiquities and old objects market) Also tango dancers in the street.

In Buenos Aires there are six neighbourhood you have to visit:

Downtown: is the centre of the city, there you will see the most important buildings of Argentina's history, like The ColĂ³n Theatre. Here you will find the Obelisk and the Florida Street, the main commercial artery of the downtown area.

Palermo: this's a multifaceted neighbourhood. It has a number of huge and beautiful parks with some lakes. Places of interest: Botanical garden, Buenos Aires ZOO, Argentine Rural Society..

La Boca: this is the soul of the "porteño" spirit. You can go to Caminito Street and watch some tango dancers or old cobbled streets...

Puerto Madero: it's one of the most romantic places in Buenos Aires. There are a lot of spectacular restaurants.

Recoleta (my favorite): shows the most glamourous face of Buenos Aires. There you can find the "Floralis Genérica", La Recoleta Cementery, Buenos Aires Design and more...

Tigre: is a picturesque town characterized by the "Puerto de Frutos", el Parque de la Costa and a fabulous countryside

ENJOY YOUR VISIT!

By saying Buenos Aires you can mean both: the city and the province.
