The capital is an area within Buenos Aires provice usually called "Capital Federal", although its current formal denomination is "Ciudad AutÃ³noma de Buenos Aires". It's not the entire province! And incidentally, the capital of Buenos Aires province is NOT Capital Federal but a city some 60 km southeast called La Plata (where I live!)
