ThereĀ“s so much culture to be found in BA, itĀ“s going to be tough to define just ONE cultural center. ThereĀ“s the Colon Theatre for example (now remodeling). Then thereĀ“s the museums all around the city, like: Bellas Artes in Recoleta, Isaac Blanco (colonial culture) in microcentro, MALBA in Palermo.... and so on. The cinema street: Lavalle pedestrian street. Artists performing on the street: everywhere, especially on Florida pedestrian street. The theatre street: Corrientes, the "street that never sleeps, in the city taht never sleeps" or so they say.

I would check out Recoleta, the graveyard there is where Evita is burieds, there are two or three interesting museums right in that area. Not to mention a fascinating market open on the weekends.
San Telmo is a great place to check out markets, tango and cafes. |
