Everybody says Buenos Aires, but there are other things in Argentina besides portenos! Tucuman is a great place to visit! The mountains are great and so are the lakes, where fishing and boating are fun. I was born there and I know what its like. |

IguazĂş waterfalls - http://www.iguazuargentina.com/ , http://railtrips.euweb.cz/c_arg_day2_en.html ,
Plus a lot of places in Buenos Aires, delta of Paraná (Tigre outside BsAs), mountains in Salta, or perhaps even Antarctica (http://antarktida.xf.cz/foto.htm , trips are organized from Ushuaia). A whole lot to see - you will enjoy it! |

Argentina has, almost for sure, a trip that will fit into your taste, budget and expectations. The “Argentinean Main Attraction” will differ based on your taste and type of activities.
I will suggest:
- Football (soccer) matches. If possible go to a Boca-River game.
- Polo: simply the best polo of the world.
- Perito Moreno Glacier.
- IguzĂş waterfalls.
- Tango shows.
- Nightlife.
- Aconcagua mountain.
Based on the number of days you will stay in the country I will recommend, assuming is your first time in the country:
a)1 to 3 days: Stay in Buenos Aires. You will have a good idea of cultural (historic monuments, theaters, cinemas, museums, tango shows & classes), nightlife, sports, architecture, great food, sports events (do not leave Argentina without a football (soccer) match in your itinerary) polo, “pato” (the national sport), and golf, yachting, car races, tennis, etc. If you like “extreme tourism”, even the social movements known as “piquetes”.
b)4 to 7 days: Buenos Aires plus Patagonia (great landscapes, the renowned “Glaciar Perito Moreno” among others, whales sighting, sports: skiing, fishing, rafting, golf, cycling, great pikes to climb like “Aconcagua” among many others) or Mesopotamia (the well-known “Iguazú” waterfalls, “San Ignacio” ruins, “Esteros del Iberá”, the “Carnaval” fest, sports: car and moto races, fishing, hunting, golf, sailing).
c)7 to 10 days: Go for Buenos Aires + Patagonia + Mesopotamia.
d)10 to 12 days: Add Mendoza province to your trip. You will find superb winemakers / cellars in the area, with the chance to take a tour to a great number of them. Great views, restaurants, nightlife and cultural events.
e)Up to 14 days: Add Códoba… the second province (in importance) of Argentina. You will find almost the same things than in Buenos Aires, but with a nicer “timming” and smaller scale.
f)More than 15 days: I suggest adding the north-west provinces of the country (“Tucumán”, “Salta”, “Jujuy” maybe “La Rioja”) they have a different type tourism, base on historical places and outstanding natural views. |

Beautiful country! It's most famous for the meat and the Tango. The most european country in South America. Buenos Aires is the Paris of the south, it's like any other major city and the birthplace of the Tango! The meat is unsurpassed in any country I've been to yet, they don't even have to season it. The north is hot and humid: Iguazu falls are a MUST SEE. Makes Niagra look like a little bird bath. The south is like a mix of Germany and Switzerland with gorgeous mountains and lakes. Bariloche another MUST SEE!! Mendoza in the west is wine country. and of course the east coast has great beaches. Exchange is 3 to 1 right now. I love to shop there because they get their clothes from Europe. Threw a Barbeque for 30+ people for $40 U.S dollars, meat and drinks and everything FORTY DOLLARS. Enjoy Argentina! |
